England based Times Higher Education (THE) is one of the most prestigious university rankings in the world and once again Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi (ODTÜ) has been selected to be in the listings as the only Turkish university. ODTÜ was ranked in the top 80 among the world’s most reputable 100 universities.

The Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings 2014 is followed by universities and institutes all over the world and ODTÜ has been ranked in the top 80 as the only Turkish university. It has been announced by the England based establishment on March 5th, 2014 that ODTÜ has been placed among the top 100 universities, ranking in the 71-80 band.

“World Reputation Rankings 2014” is made possible by the participation of more than 10.000 academics around the world with the help of Ipsos MediaCT Research Corporation’s survey (Thomson Reuters Academic Reputation Survey) that took place on March-May 2013. The survey has been delivered to academics (with at least 18 year work experience and also published in recognized academic journals) from different backgrounds and various regions that have been selected from 133 countries by the Times Higher Education and Thomson Reuters. The aim being, to select the “world’s strongest top 100 university brands” via survey, the participants were expected to identify 15 universities that had “excellent” quality of education and research.

Alongside the continuously increasing international scientific studies, academic collaborations and the accomplishments our students, associates and alumni have achieved; just as they did in the years 2012 and 2013, ODTÜ is once again  the only Turkish university which has entered the list of "Most Reputable 100 Universities of the World". Our university ranked in the 71-80 band alongside famous universities like the University of Sorbonne and Boston University on the other hand leaving behind succesful universities such as London Business School and University of Florida.

Universities from developed countries like USA, England, Germany, Japan and Australia have remained on top of the list as they did in the past 2 years. However, successful universities from other countries like Italy, Spain, Austria or Denmark have not made the list. ODTÜ has shared the list with universities from only 20 different countries and succeeded to be one of the "Most Reputable 100 Universities of the World", which is a great honor for our university that aims to achieve international success in science and education.

I would like to congratulate our academic and administrative staff, graduates and students and extend my thanks to everybody who contributed to our success.
