Our University’s 2016 Spring Tree Planting Event will take place in the OR-AN region of the ODTÜ forest on Sunday, May 15th between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. During the event, 10,000 trees will be planted in memory of our students Berkay Baş and Ozancan Akkuş, who we lost in March, and thus, the 300 thousandth tree will have been planted within the scope of the campaign A Tree From You, A Forest From Us.

Along with ODTÜ members, students of all primary and secondary schools in the region, official institutions in Ankara, foreign missions, non-governmental organizations, the media and all residents of Ankara have been invited to the event. ODTÜ members and nature lovers may enter the area with their vehicles from gates 4 and 5 on Turan Güneş Boulevard. Additionally, bus services will depart from the Rectorate, East-West Dormitories and Personnel Residences areas on Campus, and from Tunus and Sıhhıye bus stops downtown to provide transportation to the event area. Transportation by bus will be provided back to the same locations at the end of the event. The program of the event is as follows:

10:30 – 11:00    Performances of Student and Personnel Clubs and Societies

11:00 – 11:30    President Prof. Ahmet Acar’s Speech and Issuing Certificates to the Donors of the A Tree From You A Forest From Us Campaign

11:30 – 13:00    Planting Trees

12:30 – 13:30    Serving of Sandwiches and Ayran
