Incorporating the activities of bringing the knowledge produced in the university into society and economy, “Academic Entrepreneurship” plays a big role in the commercialization of inventions. In this context, the second “Academic Entrepreneurship” training, which was first organized by METU TTO on February 11, 2017, will be organized on METU Technopark on Saturday, May 27,2017. “Business Model-Canvas” which was addressed in the first training with its key points and which is the first and most important stage of the entrepreneurship process in education will be explained in practice.
Participation in “Academic Entrepreneurship” training, which supports entrepreneurship activities that allow the commercialization of technology developed in universities, is limited to 15 people.
Please send an e-mail to tto@odtuteknokent.com.tr to participate in the program expected to be beneficial for the academic staff who own a company or would like to establish their own companies.

WHAT IF WE HAD
THE SOLAR
ENERGY
Prof. Dr. Raşit TURAN
7:00 pm
VENUE: Naci Talat Foundation
THE SUN
WILL SAVE OUT
PLANET!
The fossil fuels we burn to meet our energy needs are destabilizing the atmosphere and lead to irreversible disasters. We have to give up on burning hydrocarbons and turn to clean energy sources to reverse this situation. The most powerful option is the sun, which we know most and is the source of all life
The sun, an infinite, quiet, clean, and accessible source of energy, brings thousands of times more than what we need.
Since recent developments have made the price of solar power compete with other sources, it is expected that an energetic paradigm shift will happen and solar power will have a definite advantage over fossil fuels.
This month in the Science Café, Prof. Dr. Raşit Turan from METU Center for Solar Energy Research and Applications (GÜNAM) and Physics Department will talk about the technological developments in this area as well as the importance of solar energy. We are looking forward to seeing all popular science enthusiasts in our meeting where the progress made by METU GÜNAM and the effect it creates will be also discussed.
