The Health and Counseling Center, operating under the Division of Health, Culture and Sports at METU, provides comprehensive health and counseling services to students and university staff.
Our center was awarded a quality certificate by TÜV Rheinland in 2000, which was established and documented in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. Since then, annual interim audits have been conducted for the first two years, followed by a certificate renewal audit in the third year. The Quality Management approach is based on the principle of continuous improvement. The Center is committed to the ongoing development of the compliance, adequacy, and effectiveness of its management systems (ISO 9001:2015). In line with this approach, process performance criteria and risk analyses concerning internal and external factors are discussed during management review meetings, and their outcomes are regularly monitored.
The health complex on campus includes the Health and Counseling Center, the Biochemistry and Clinical Microbiology Laboratory, and the Emergency First Aid Unit building.
The personnel of our Center comprise 4 general practitioners, 7 medical specialists (psychiatry, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, radiology, ophthalmology, pulmonology, orthopedics and traumatology), and 3 dentists. In addition, psychological counseling and therapy services are provided by 4 psychologists and 1 psychological counselor. Healthcare services are supported by 4 physiotherapists, 11 nurses, 2 biologists, 1 health officer, 5 health technicians, 1 medical technician, and 1 general technician.
Our working hours are as follows:
- General working hours: 08:30 - 16:30 on weekdays
- Outpatient clinic hours: 09:00 - 12:00 / 13:30 - 16:00
- The Emergency First Aid Unit operates 24/7.
- Services such as injections are provided only during physicians' working hours.
