GENERAL ARRANGEMENTS

The Festival Area:

The area allocated for the Spring Fest is as described below:

  • The front of ODTÜ Shopping Center (the lot starting from behind the ATMs and covering the area along the creek), where the Student Club and Society stands are to be located for various activities. 
  • The Stadium Entrance (the entrance behind the Youth Monument), where International stands are to be located.
  • The Stadium, which is to be the venue of the evening concerts.
  • The Basketball Court (next to the Big Gym), where the food stands are to be located.
  • The Front and Car Park of the Big Gym, which are to be allotted for trade stands such as those for souvenir sales.

General Arrangements:

  • During the Spring Fest (between May 7 and 10) those who are not students, members or alumni of ODTÜ will be able to enter the Campus as guests of students, members or alumni. Otherwise, entries will not be allowed.
  • For the duration of the festival, arrangements have been made regarding access to the Campus through the A1, A4 and A7 gates, the traffic flow on campus, the ring bus services and the usage of car parks. Information about these arrangements made for our students, members, alumni and their guests can be found in the announcements on the main page of our University’s website (www.metu.edu.tr).
  • In order for the festival to run smoothly and in a healthy manner, we kindly request that our members, students, alumni and guests
    • do not drive to campus but make use of the ring services for in-Campus transportation,
    • be of help to officials as regards these arrangements.

Arrangements Regarding the Traffic Flow and the Use of In-Campus Parking Areas.

  • Additional ring services have been provided in order to facilitate in-Campus transportation. Information regarding these services can be found at the address www.tim.metu.edu.tr.
  • Entries and exits via the A-4 gate will be restricted between the hours 10:00 and 24:00 throughout the festival.
  • Access of vehicles from the A-1 gate to the festival area will be restricted between the hours 10:00 and 24:00. Between these hours, vehicles will be directed from the School of Foreign Languages intersection to the A-7 gate and the car parks on the west site of the campus.
  • The traffic flow between the A-4 gate, the Cafeteria, and the School of Foreign Languages and Mining Engineering intersections will be restricted throughout the Fest. These arrangements can be found on the main page of our University’s website (www.metu.edu.tr).
  • Throughout the Fest, parking will be restricted in the Dormitories area, the Tennis Courts, the Big Gym, the Old Housing (behind İş Bank), The Guest House, the Culture and Convention Center (CCC), the Cafeteria, and the Central Engineering, Computer Center and Civil Engineering Buildings. As the arrangements have been made according to the types of sticker, drivers are advised to see the information regarding themselves at the main page of our University’s website (www.metu.edu.tr).
  • Parking for students at the Library and Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) car parks will be monitored and the lots will be closed when there is no vacant space.
  • Vehicles that leave the Library and FEAS car parks between 10:00 and 24:00 hrs will be directed to the A-1 and A-7 gates. Similarly, the exits of vehicles parked between the Cafeteria and Chemical Engineering will be from the A-1 and A-7 gates via Chemical Engineering direction. Access will be provided towards the Cafeteria intersection only for our personnel living at the Old Housing.

During the period in which traffic is restricted, vehicles parked at the CCC will be directed to Gate A-1 for their exit, and those parked at the Old Housing (behind İş Bank) and the Dormitories will be directed to Gates A-1 and A-4.
