There are various sports and recreation activities in METU Sports environment and the students and personnel can choose from a wide array of challenges for all skill levels. Active sportsmen/women or students, who wish to enhance their capabilities at sports branches, can engage in physical exercise with the guidance of an advisor or under the supervision of a trainer. The Directorate is at the entrance floor of the Indoor Gym. Moreover, every student can participate in sports activities individually.

The gymnasia are open to students and student groups all throughout the year between the hours 9.00 -22.00. However, sports fields are usually reserved for sports teams in the evenings and at the weekends at specific hours. There are daily field/court schedules for sports like tennis and football. Sports Center is available for our students between 08:00-17:00 on weekdays, between 14:30-20:45 on Saturdays and between 12:00-15:30 on Sundays.

    • Tennis Courts (15 outdoor, 2 indoor) The courts behind Grand Sports Hall and by the stadium can be used by daily reservation.

    • Ping pong Tables (at Grand Sports Hall and various departments)
    • Yalıncak (6 km.) and Çamlık (2 km.) running tracks

    • Sports Center (fitness, squash, sauna, vitamin cafe)
      Sauna, jacuzzi and steam room reservations are made everyday at 12:00, 15:00 and 18:00. Those reservations made are completed only after the payment is made. Reservations for massage rounds can be made everyday; reservations for squash are accepted both daily and weekly. (210 7850)

Session Schedule for the Indoor Pool (everyday except Monday)
* Every session (between 09:00-20:45) is 75 minutes at the indoor pool and there are 15-min intervals between these sessions. Every one in the pool should leave the pool at the end of each session.

Sauna reservations can be made until 10:00 within a day.

Eymir Lake
The Eymir Lake is within the boundaries of METU territory and 20 kilometers away from the main campus. The lake and its surroundings are ideal places for activities like rowing, fishing, having picnic etc. There are places to dine around the lake as well.
