Another success has been added to the list of ODTÜ achievements with the statement released by the UK-based Times Higher Education (THE) on June 10, 2015 that ODTÜ is ranked 12th in the “Asia University Rankings” for 2015. In the 2012, 2013, 2014 THE World Reputation Rankings, ODTÜ was also named among the top 100 most reputable universities in the world. It was ranked 85th among the world’s best universities in these rankings released in October last year. ODTÜ was the first and only university representing Turkey in each of these lists.
The “Asia University Rankings”, which include China, Japan and South Korea, the leading Asian countries in education, use a range of performance indicators such as teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook to assign scores to universities across Asia. In total, 14 countries are represented in the list, where ODTÜ’s ranking jumped to No. 12 from No. 29. Other Turkish universities named in the rankings include: Boğaziçi University (14), İTÜ (19), Sabancı University (21), Bilkent University (30) and Koç University (47).
