We will hold the 23rd session of our “Learn & Connect: 5.40 Lecture Series” event on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 5.40 pm at the Çim Amfi. In this session, Asst. Prof. Doğa Veske from the Department of Physics will join us with his presentation titled “Interpreting the Coincidences in the Universe via Multimessenger Astronomy.”
The universe is home to countless events and phenomena that humans have sought to understand throughout history. In recent years, the development of multi-messenger astronomy has made it possible to study these phenomena more comprehensively by combining traditional astronomical observations with neutrino astronomy and gravitational-wave astronomy. This approach has enabled scientists to observe previously unknown systems and gain new insights into a wide range of questions in physics, from the expansion of the universe to the formation of heavy elements such as gold. In his talk, Dr. Veske will discuss how jointly observed events help us better understand the universe.
Following the seminar, a film screening will be held at 6:40 p.m. at the Çim Amfi, with the support of Radyo ODTÜ.
