About METU

The mission of Middle East Technical University is to reach, produce, apply and promote knowledge, and to educate individuals with that knowledge for the social, cultural, economic, scientific and technological development of our society and humanity. This is to be done by bringing teaching, research and social services up to universal standards. The language of instruction at METU is English .

Over 20.000 graduate and undergraduate students from Turkey and nearly 50 different foreign countries attend METU. METU has 5 Graduate Schools and 41 undergraduate programs within 5 faculties as well as a "School of Foreign Languages" including the English Preparatory Department.      
     

The Faculty of Engineering with fourteen departments, with all their undergraduate programs are approved by Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Engineering Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Food Engineering, Geological Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mining Engineering, Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering.
