GEOE 303 - GEOPHYSICAL PROSPECTING

Application of geophysical methods to explore mineral and hydrocarbon deposits and to solve various earth science related problems relevant to engineering projects.

The course focuses upon acquisition, processing and interpretation of gravity, magnetic, electrical and seismic data.

Interpretation exercises and case histories illustrating importance of integrating various geological and geophysical data sets as well as accuracy and non uniqueness of solutions are to be emphasized.
