Dissertation Title: “Petrology of the Phlogopite-Bearing Ultramafic-Mafic Plutonic Rocks within Central Anatolian Crystalline Complex, Turkey”. The origin and petrogenesis of selected rocks from the Central Anatolian Magmatic units of the Central Anatolian Crystalline Complex in Turkey was reconstructed using petrographical observations, mineral chemistry of the constituent minerals (phlogopite, pargasite, clinopyroxene, plagioclase), and geochemical evidences. Mineralogical and geochemical implications for petrology and tectonic setting (from which metasomatic component was derived), and regional geology were described. Electron microprobe (EMP), wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (WD-XRF), inductively coupled plasma - mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and inductively coupled plasma - atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) were used for the analyses.

Thesis Title: “Petrography  and Mineralogy of the Vermiculitized Phlogopitic Metagabbro from the Kurançalı Area (Kırşehir-Central Anatolia)” involved literature search about geology of area, vermiculite and phlogopite, studies on mineralogical and chemical composition of phlogopite and vermiculite using Frantz Isodynamic Magnetic Separator, X-ray diffractometer (XRD), combined differential thermal and thermogravimetric method (DTA-TG), inductively coupled plasma spectrometry (ICP), scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive X-ray method (SEM-EDX), semi-quantitative electron microprobe (EMP), and petrographic microscope.
