ECON 691 Economics of Technology Policy
Spring 2006
Course Objective
The objective of this course is to provide an introduction to the theory of technology policy and various tools available in designing, implementing, and evaluating technology policy. Students successfully completing the course will have acquired a wider body of relevant knowledge and also developed the capability to apply economic analysis to policy issues in the area of technological change. Specific topics to be covered include the economics of technological change, measurement of technological activities, aims and means of technology policy, and the practice of technology policy with a special emphasis on the EU practice.
