Onur Demirer is entering his 4th year in ME at METU. He participated in Derek Baker's informal global engineering initiative at METU as a student in METU's International Summer Engineering Program 2009 and as an exchange student at The University of Texas-Austin in the Spring 2010 semester. He is working on developing new methods to characterize the potential for solar energy to reduce peak electricity demand. This research is being done in conjunction with Dr. Merih Aydınalp-Köksal of Hacettepe University and Dr. Sencer Yeralan of The University of Florida.
