|
| Spring 2012 Classes: |
 |
Both my classes for the
Spring 2012 are Restricted Electives (RE). Enrollment for all 4 RE's
this semester will be coordinated. All students interested in taking an
RE this semester need to fill-out an application as discussed in class.
Syllabi for both classes can be downloaded from these links. After
Add/Drops I will use METU-Online for these classes.

Clean energy is a very broad area and any list of classes is very subjective. The following is based on classes relevant to areas that I work in or am interested in (please email me if you know of other classes to add to this list):
- AE 495: Wind Energy and Wind Turbine Technology
- BS 716: Principles of Green Building Design and Delivery (BS = Building Sciences)
- EE 710: Electricity Marketing (Includes economic and energy policy content)
- ME 403: Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration*
- ME 405: Energy Conversion Systems
- ME 422: Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration System Design*
- ME 421: Steam Generator and Heat Exchanger Design
- ME 424: Steam Power Plant Engineering
- ME 476: Second Law Analysis of Engineering Systems
- ME 478: Introduction to Solar Energy Utilization
- ME 492: Fuel Cell Fundamentals
- ME 514: Advanced Solar Energy Utilization
*ME 403 & 422 are revelant for the design and operation of High Performance Buildings, which are also called Green Buildings, Low Energy Buildings, Zero Energy Buildings, etc..

International Engineering Program: |
 |
 |
International Summer Engineering Program 2009 (ISEP 2009) Participants
Field trip to the International Centre for Hydrogen Energy Technologies (ICHET)
Students from METU (21), The University of Texas-Austin (7),
and The Pennsylvania State University (2) |
 |
Development of an active engineering student exchange program between METU and The University of Texas-Austin (Texas) and The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State). The initial focus in on bringing Texas and Penn State students to METU through a 4th year technical elective class on fuel cells. The program goals are 1) to give engineering students experience working in a global engineering environment, and 2) to encourage students to pursue careers related to clean energy conversion technologies.
