I firstly concentrate on regeneration
and genetic transformation of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.). Also I
deal with regeneration of other plant species including tobacco,
barley, wheat. I carry out physiological and biochemical analysis of
genetically modified plants.
In addition to tissue culture studies, I study stress physiolgy in
different plant species. I examine physiological, biochemical and
enzymatic changes of crop plants including wheat, sugar beet and
sunflower at various stress conditions such as osmotic stress, salinity
and drought.
I have been a research assistant in METU since 2002. My research focuses on plant biotechnology, plant physiolgy and molecular genetics of plants.
