Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi’nde Yüksel Proje’nin değerli bağışlarıyla, ODTÜ’de öğrencilerin kullanımına yönelik bir derslik kompleksi oluşturma fikrinden yola çıkılarak hayata geçirilen ODTÜ Yüksel Proje Amfisi; 11 Ocak 2019 Cuma günü yapılan törenle açıldı.
Açılış töreninde Yüksel Proje Uluslararası A.Ş. Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı, İnşaat Mühendisliği Bölümü 1979 yılı mezunu Celal Akın ile ODTÜ Rektörü Prof. Dr. Mustafa Verşan Kök konuşma yaptılar.
Celal Akın konuşmasında “ODTÜ’nün ülkenin tartışmasız en iyi üniversitesi olduğunu, eğitim kalitesi, özgürlük ortamı, kampüsün özellikleri, sosyal imkanları, gelen öğrencilerin düzeyiyle ODTÜ’nün fark yarattığını” dile getirdi. “Biz ODTÜ’lüler üniversitemizin daha da gelişmesi için gereken her türlü fedakarlığı fazlasıyla yapmalıyız, çünkü başka bir ODTÜ yok.” diyen Celal Akın kendisinin de bir ODTÜ’lü olduğunu ve sahip olduğu her şeyi ODTÜ’de aldığı eğitime borçlu olduğunu vurguladı.
Rektör Prof. Dr. Mustafa Verşan Kök, konuşmasında özellikle ABD ve Avrupa’da üniversitelerin mezunların desteğiyle ayakta kaldığını, bundan hareketle neler yapılabileceğini değerlendirerek bağışlarla çeşitli katkılarda bulunulmasına öncülük ettiklerini söyledi. ODTÜ Yüksel Proje Amfisi benzeri katkıların çoğalması temennisiyle Yüksel Proje ailesine teşekkür eden Prof. Kök törenin sonunda Celal Akın’a öğrencilik dönemine ait not dökümünü ve mezuniyet belgesini hediye ederek, teşekkür plaketi sundu.
Yüksel Proje ve ODTÜ Yüksel Proje Amfisi Hakkında
1978 yılında kurulan ve inşaat sektöründe tasarım, müşavirlik ve proje yönetimi ana başlıkları altında hizmet veren Yüksel Proje, ulaşım, üstyapı, altyapı ve çevre alanlarında faaliyet gösteriyor. Türkiye ve dünyadaki sektörel gelişmeleri yakından takip eden, yenilikçi bir yapılanmayı benimseyen firma; insan kaynakları gücü, çalışma prensipleri, güçlü referansları ve yenilikçi bakış açısıyla dünya çapında sektörünün önde gelen firmalarından biri olma hedefine doğru kararlı adımlarla ilerliyor.
Çalışanlarının yaklaşık %85’inin de ODTÜ mezunu olduğu Yüksel Proje’nin bağışlarıyla sekiz ay gibi kısa bir sürede bitirilen Yüksel Proje Amfisi’nin temeli 12 Nisan 2018 tarihinde atıldı. Yüksel Proje’nin 40. yılına özel sosyal sorumluluk projesi olan Yüksel Proje Amfisi, Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi kampüsünde gerçekleştirilen ilk hibe proje olma özelliği taşıyor.
ODTÜ Kampüsü’nün beton, tuğla gibi yapı elemanlarının çıplak halleri ile kullanıldığı brütalist mimari anlayışı sürdürerek çağdaş mimariyi kendisinden önce yapılanlarla diyalog içine sokacak bir yapı hedefiyle yapılan amfide doku, mekân kalitesi ve ortak alan kullanımları konusunda kampüsün diğer yapılarındaki yaklaşımları yeniden yorumlayarak bir tasarım ortaya konması amaçlandı.
1850 öğrenci kapasiteli, ikisi 250 kişilik dört adet amfi ve 17 adet derslik barındıran, böylece ODTÜ öğrencilerinin derslik sorununu sona erdiren ODTÜ Yüksel Proje Amfisi, 2019 bahar döneminde ilk öğrencilerini ağırlayacak.
In the opening ceremony, Celal Akın, Chairman of Yüksel Proje Executive Board and a graduate of METU from Civil Engineering Department in 1979, and METU President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Verşan Kök delivered their speech.
Celal Akın stated in his speech,“METU is, beyond dispute, the best university in the country, and makes a difference with its quality of education, environment of freedom, physical and social characteristics of the campus as well the high educational level of incoming students.”Expressing that“We, METU alumni, have to give so much of ourselves for the further development of our university. Ultimately, there is no other METU”, Celal Akın highlighted that he was a METU graduate and he acquired all the qualifications he has today thanks to the education he received at METU.
President Prof. Dr. Mustafa Verşan Kök stated that the universities especially in the US and Europe keep up with the support of their alumni and they took the lead in paving the way for the alumni donations and contributions. Extending his sincere thanks to Yüksel Proje wishing that the contributions such as Yüksel Proje Lecture Hall would increase in the future, Prof. Dr. Kök gave Celal Akın his academic transcript and a certificate of graduation as a gift and presented a plaque of gratitude.

The foundation of Yüksel Proje Lecture Hall, which was completed in eight months with the donations of Yüksel Proje, was laid on April 12, 2018. Yüksel Proje Lecture Hall, a social responsibility project of Yüksel Proje for the 40th-year anniversary, is the first grant project carried out on the campus of Middle East Technical University.
The lecture hall was built based on a brutalist architecture, where raw constructional elements such as concrete and bricks are left exposed. In the lecture hall constructed to present a structure that would put the contemporary architecture into a dialogue with those constructed before, a design is aimed to be manifested by reinterpreting the approaches in other buildings of METU campus in terms of texture, space quality and use of common areas.
Within the building with 1850-person capacity, there are 4 lecture theaters in total comprising of 17 classrooms, and 2 halls with 250 person-capacity each. METU Yüksel Proje Lecture Hall, which ended the need for classroom space for METU students, will host first students in the spring term of 2019.
