1- Yazılımın yeni sürümle birlikte adı değişmiştir. Yeni sürüm 'Predictive
Analysis Software'in kısaltması olan 'PASW 18' şeklinde adlandırılmıştır. PASW 18
geriye dönük olarak uyumludur, eski sürüm SPSS dosyaları ile sorunsuz şekilde
çalışmaktadır.

2- SPSS firmasının lisanslama koşullarından dolayı, PASW 18'in servise konacağı
01 Mart 2010 Pazartesi gününden itibaren SPSS 15'in hizmetten kaldırılması söz
konusudur. Bu nedenle, halen SPSS yazılımını kullanmakta olan mensuplarımızın
yazılımın yeni sürümünü olan PASW 18 yazılımını bilgisayarlarına 01 Mart 2010
tarihi itibariyle kurmaları gerekmektedir. Toplu kurulum yapılması gereken PC
Laboratuvarı gibi yerlerde ise kurulum önceden yapılıp yeni lisans bilgisi 1
Mart'ta girilebilir. PASW 18 yazılımı 1 Mart'tan önce çalışmayacaktır.

SPIE Digital Library is a database about optics and photonics - the enabling technologies of the 21st century. It contains 8 peer-review journals, more than 275.000 conference papers (6.500 volumes)  in the fields of astronomy and astronomical optics, biomedical optics and medical imaging, communication and information technologies, defense and industrial sensing, electronic imaging and processing, micro and nano technologies, optics and electro optics.

Kullanıcılarımız, merkezi sunucular üzerinde tanımlı kullanıcı kodları ile servise giriş yaparak, "http://blog.metu.edu.tr/kullanıcı_kodu" şeklindeki adreslerden ulaşılan kişısel blog sayfalarını oluşturabilirler. The Collection Manager, a new publication announcement service that was provided by Blackwell Publishing Co. for developing library collections by selecting books, could not be used in 2009 due to the merger of Blackwell with an another publishing company.

In 2010, a new database called OASIS (Online Acquisition and Selection Information Service), owned by the Coutts Company in England will be used to utilize the New Publication Announcement Service. OASIS keeps approximately 8.000.000 books in its database archive. Newly published book information is sent to the e-mail addresses of users who were added in the system according to the subject areas that the users are interested in. Through this system, our academic staff will be able to offer newly published books and add them to our library collection.

Information of our academic staff who previously used the Collection Manager and who previously informed us that they wanted to use the new service by forwarding subject areas of their interest were already added into OASIS systems. Their username and passwords will be sent to their e-mail addresses shortly. For those academic staff, who are interested but have not yet used or requested to use the new service: We kindly ask them to forward their request and the subject areas that they are interested in to our library as soon as possible.

After accessing the database, information related to the books that are requested to be ordered and to be selected with Mark For Selection line will reach our library and the librarian in charge.

This database provides access to PubMed indexed journal devoted to the publication of  biological research in video format from 2006 to present. Database covers Biology, Medicine, Neurology, Microbiology, Immunology and some basic protocols.

Dawsonera database provides access to 110,000 books of 230 publisher in all disciplines and new books are added to the database every month between 1.000-2.000. During the trial period 100 e-books can be downloaded from the database. This database offers to review all the other books.

Database offers students a starting point for their research. By providing comprehensive summaries of sociology topics, it helps students grasp the broad outlines of a subject, realize its real world applications, critically engage it, and locate sources for researching it in greater detail.

Research Starters-Sociology articles are broken down into twenty-six categories, each of which contains between four and thirty-five article topics. Culture, family & relationships, research methods, socialization, society and technology,etc are some of those categories.
