Aims

The CES-METU Jean Monnet Center of Excellence 2009 PhD Workshop aims to bring together students at any stage of their PhD work (students just starting their PhDs, those in the middle and close to completion), who are studying on various topics related to the field of European Studies. The organizing committee of the PhD workshop has decided to select 9 stimulating papers among the applicants, bringing together theory and practice in their research area.

Knovel is an online technical reference collection. Knovel provides access approximately 2,000 leading reference works and e-books from over 50 international publishers and professional societies through a single interface. This database cover in the field of radar technology, aviation and defence, machine, petrol, chemistry, electricity - electronic, ceramic, construction, structure and design, environment and textile engineering, material science, industrial security, biotechnology and medicines, medical instrument and equipment, cosmetic, geology, engineering management, paper and plastic industry, etc.

ODT-STD is supported by TÜBİTAK, and the first small-scale trial corpus will be accessible at the beginning of 2010. The full release of the corpus is planned for October 2010. In the years to follow, we plan to increase the size of the corpus. In the project, sound/video recordings will be transcribed and tagged for various discourse features of spoken Turkish with EXMARaLDA.The transcriptions will be time-lined with the recordings for viewing and conducting searches.

We are seeking volunteers who would like to make recordings of interactions in Turkish in any part of Turkey or contribute existing recordings to the project. For any queries about the project or for contributions of recordings, please fill in the form at the web site of the project or send an e-mail to the address below.

The names of individuals and institutions contributing recordings to the corpus will be published on the web site of the project. Individuals who make recordings and do transcriptions will be remunerated and awarded certificates.

Geleneksel hale gelen fotoğraf yarışmalarımızın ikincisinde, "ODTÜ'DE YAŞAM" başlığı altında, Orta  Doğu  Teknik Üniversitesi'nde yaşamı  her  yönüyle yansıtabilecek  görüntülerin yer alması beklenmektedir. Yarışmanın amacı, ODTÜ'deki yaşamı tanıtmak, belgelemek ve ODTÜ'ye ait basılı yayınlarda (katalog, takvim, afiş gibi) kullanılmak üzere kapsamlı bir fotoğraf arşivi oluşturmaktır.

*Yarışma, seçici kurul üyeleri dışında herkese açıktır.
*Yarışmacılar, yarışmaya Renkli Baskı ya da Siyah Beyaz Baskı ile katılabilirler. Bir yarışmacı her bölüme en fazla 4 yapıt gönderebilir.
*Yapıtlar daha önce ödül veya mansiyon almamış olmalıdır.
*Yarışmaya katılım ücretsizdir.

(Ödüller ile ilgili bilgi kampus içerisine asılacak afişlerde duyurulacaktır.)
